Itinerary
When does my tour start?You will be met at the port by a Cruising Excursions representative who will then guide you to your air conditioned transportation ready to commence your tour.
On this tour you will travel to the Slovenian countryside where you will visit the village of Socerb. Located in the Littoral region of Slovenia it lies on the border of Italy and is dominated by the ruins of the Socerb Castle. The castle is perched on the edge of a 300 metre high rock and offers a beautiful view of Koper and the Trieste Gulf. The castle dates back to the 13th Century and was an important building throughout history. You will also visit the Saint Servulus church which is dedicated to a local saint who lived in a nearby cave.
Your next stop is the village if Hrastovlje which is best known for its Church of the Holy Trinity which contains late medieval Danse Macabre fresco. You will continue on your tour with a viewing of a private collection of memorabilia and uniforms from the great wars followed by a collection of prints and paintings by world renowned artist Joze Pohlen.
Your tour will end with a visit to a local organic farm and you are welcome to tour the farm and learn about the produce and the working of the farm and enjoy some delicious refreshments before returning to port.
There are photo opportunities a plenty on this wonderful tour and the spectacualr scenery of the area surrounding the villages will take your breath away.
