You will be met at the cruise port by a Cruising Excursions representative ready for your tour to begin. 

Your tour will commence with a 25-minute drive towards Chinandega City before taking the non-paved road into the rural region surrounded by farms and a dry tropical small forest.

Sit back and relax as this journey of natural discovery begins. 

On you way to the country’s highest Volcano, San Cristobal, you will discover all this country has to offer. With its rich history, nature and culture. Your knowledgeable guide will be on hand to answer any questions you may to gain a deeper understanding of Nicaragua. 

With the San Cristobal Volcano standing at an impressive 1745 metres, you will pass roads that can reach a gradient of 45 degrees. 

Forming the majestic backdrop to the city of Chinandega, it is the most active volcanoes in the country. San Cristóbal has produced occasional weak explosions since 1999, with intermittent gas-and-ash emissions, all be it gently. With its crater measuring 500 x 600 metres you can see why the large quantities of gas and smoke have killed off the once thriving tropical forests and vegetation. 

San Christobal remains quite active. As recent as September 2009, ash was seen falling in the nearby towns and in September 2012, its ash was seen spewing up to 4 kilometres after its eruption. 

Here you will take on the Volcano with a moderate hike to the top. 

Your next stop is the Las Rojas farm. Here you will visit the old coffee facility where your guide will explain the process and see the old machinery used several years ago. 

Walk 1.5 kilometres amongst the vast coffee plantations as you capture forever, the amazing views of San Cristobal and Chonco Volcanoes in the background of your selfie

Return to the Casa Hacienda and taste the local tipple. Enjoy a cup of freshly made coffee made with purified water. 

What better way to bring your wonderful nature experience to an end. 

Make the return journey back to the cruise port in plenty of time for your ship's departure.
