Situated at the Northern tip of Taiwan on the Tansui River, Taipei is a unique and exciting city full of religious, cultural and modern places of interest.
Upon arrival at Keelung Harbour you will be escorted to your first stop on the tour- Bao’an Temple.
Situated in the DaLong Cave, the Bao’an Temple was built in 1825 and was constructed from wood and stone brought over from mainland China and so took around 25 years to build. Adjacent to the Bao’an Temple is the Confucious Temple and this will be your next stop. The temple is adorned with Fujian style ceramic plaques with the largest of these inscribed with the saying “Educate without Discrimination”. Each year a ceremony is performed which includes traditional music and dancing to honour Confucious.
Next you will visit the Lin An-Tai Old Homestead, a traditional Chinese courtyard house with elegant decoration. It is one of the only preserved traditional houses in Northern Taiwan and was built by the Lin family in the 18th century. It is the perfect way to see how a traditional Chinese house is constructed and is a great way to learn about the culture and traditions of the Chinese way of life.
From here you will take a stroll down the Dihua Street area which gives you a glance into Taipei City’s ancient past. The old town market has many shops selling a variety of traditional goods such as Chinese medicines and herbs, incense and traditional wooden crafts. This is the perfect place to pick up a souvenir and the traditional shops provide the most amazing backdrop for some fabulous photos.
After all that sightseeing and walking you will be in need of some relaxation and what better way than to receive a wonderful foot massage? The massage stimulates the feet to improve blood circulation and to remove wastes and toxins from the body. The feet can directly affect the organs and so massaging the feet makes the whole body feel completely relaxed.
This is the perfect way to enjoy the sights and sounds of Taipei and discover the traditions of this wonderful city.
Please Note: Upon making the reservation we require your full names of each passenger in your travelling party.
