You will be met at the port by your Cruising Excursions representative, there will be a short coach journey where you will meet up with your Dhow Cruise
Dhows are a traditional Arabian vessel. Very basic ships, they are nonetheless elegant in design, and now you have the chance to enjoy a pleasant cruise on one! During the cruise, it is possible to swim off the dhow, but care must be taken when getting in and out.
You'll board the Dhow at the pier, and then head on out. You'll be taken to Musandam's longest fjord, which is often referred to as 'Norway of Arabia'. During the trip, you will pass by small fishing villages, and you may even see dolphin swimming alongside the ship!
You'll pass by Telegraph Island, where its staff were well-known for succumbing to madness. The first telegraph cable was laid here in 1864, hence the name, and ran from India to Iraq. The island was manned for some 5 years. The dhow will anchor just off of the island, and once it does, you're then free to enjoy your time as you feel fit! Maybe you'll go for a swim and snorkel in the shimmering waters? Or maybe you'll just sit back, relax, and admire the stunning views of the mountainside.
Afterwards, enjoy the cruise back to the pier. This is a really wonderful opportunity, and definitely not one to be missed!
