You will be met at the port by your Cruising Excursions representative who will then guide you to your air conditioned transportation ready to commence your tour.
This tour, by coach, visits the fortified town of Budva, a picturesque popular town filled with historic churches and with its own citadel with the most breathtaking views.
The drive to Budva normally takes no more than 40 minutes. During the scenic drive, look out for the stunning views along the south coast.
Once we reach Budva, your guide will embark on a guided walking tour of the town which holds many churches with their well-preserved frescoes and icons.
We will then make our way to the Citadel which is home to the library which houses a copy of Petar Njegos’s The Mountain Wreath, the most treasured piece of literature in Montenegro. Here we will enter the Citadel (entrance is included within the tour price) which has the most picturesque landscape and sea views. This is truly amazing so don't forget to bring your camera!
After the inside visit to the Citadel you will have time for a coffee in one of the three squares in the old town, or to visit the local boutiques or you can take the 30-minute walk around the town's walls, or possibly even have a dip in the sea (don't forget your swim suit and towels)!
The tour will then continue to take in one of the most famous views in Montenegro. A former fishing village, Sveti Stefan, which is now a popular holiday getaway for the rich and famous. This exclusive resort is perched on top of a steep rocky island and attached to the shore by a narrow causeway. Once a holiday hideaway for stars like Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, the island has recently been acquired on a long-term lease and has been restored to its former glory as a luxury holiday resort.
It isn't possible to access the island unless you are a hotel guest. However, you will be able to admire a stunning view of Sveti Stefan from the viewpoint from above.
You will then be taken back to the cruise port of Kotor in plenty of time for your cruise ships departure. If you wish to enter the town of Kotor at the end of the tour, please advise your guide who will be able to give you information and assistance.
