Cruise-Drive offerings from Cruising Excursions
Dec 22, 2011
"New online cruise tour booking site, cruisingexcursions.com, has announced the launch of its “Cruise-Drive” programme. The scheme will see cards delivered to the port for collection so passengers can disembark and immediately take their own self-drive excursion. At the end of the day cars are driven back to the port for drop off. The company’s managing director Simon Purchase described the new offering as a “real alternative to Fly-Drive”.
Cruise-Drive will be launched initially in the Balearic ports of Palma, Mahon and Ibiza before extending to other destinations. This follows from the introduction last month of “Port and City Centre Hotel Day Rooms”, a solution to the early disembarkation-late flight predicament."
PSA snub for cruise add-ons start-up
Aug 22, 2011
"A cruise start-up has accused the Passenger Shipping Association of acting like an “old boys’ club” by refusing it as an affiliate member.
It was keen to join the PSA as an affiliate because this would give it access to PSA trade training arm Ace and its hundreds of cruise specialist agent members.
Cruisingexcursions initially had its membership application accepted and received an invoice.
But it was then told the decision had been reversed...." Read Full Article

Cruise excursions trade supplier launches
"A new website allows agents to sell cruise excursions direct to their clients at prices up to 60% less than cruise line rates.
Birmingham-based CruisingExcursions.com is targeting the dynamic packaging cruise market, a sector expected to see rapid expansion following Complete Cruise Solution’s decision to cut commission to 5%.
Cruising Excursions, which will also sell direct to consumers. Founder Simon Purchase said the company would give cruise lines in Europe their first real taste of competition for excursions.
“We see this as potentially turning the cruise industry on its head. I envisage agents using excursions to sell cruises,” he said.
Cruising Excursions has contracted all of its tours, mimicking some of the programmes cruise lines offer, and also brought in a selection of its own itineraries, such as Ferrari driving in Monte Carlo, helicopter tours in Barcelona and Segway tours in a variety of destinations...." Travel Tips, Top new websites for summer Vacations.

CruisingExcursions.com: Just about a year old now, this British company has, by far, the best rates going for cruise shore excursions. They beat the cruise lines’ offerings, often by more than 50 percent, as well as those of other independent purveyors of outings. Shore excursions, which can be searched by cruise line or by port, run the gamut from Alaska to Asia to the Caribbean. The only negative I can find with this site is that prices are only in British pounds, with no option to pay in dollars. But even with the exchange rate, travelers save money by booking tours through this company.
